We are presently exporting to 5 countries: Japan, U.S.A, China, France and Canada. Exports to Japan started in 2004. Nagasaki is known for its highest quality camellia oil but there is a high demand there for camellia oil from Tongyeong, Korea. Japan has stated that “In Japan, camellia oil from Tongyeong, Korea is an important market here, therefore, we are contracted to import until the end of 2019.”
Even export to the cosmetic market in France has begun. Last year alone, 4 tonnes were exported and this year that amount has increased to 7 tonnes. France proudly stated that “The (Korean) camellia oil at our laboratory is effective enough to supply as an ingredient to CHANEL Cosmetics.”
